Focus for Master's Thesis
For my MAT project, I focused on oral language’s effect on reading and writing. This means that I did thirty minutes of oral language activities with my students twice a week and analyzed qualitatively whether or not there is any effect based on the data results achieved compared to the results of my control group. In analyzing my literature gap, I found there is very little information regarding oral language’s effects on both reading and writing. I assessed results by looking at my students’ results on the IRI (Idaho Reading Indicator), Core Phonics Survey, Aimsweb progress monitors, and a writing rubric.
